Lynn does pick up bulk items, and it works — if you have the time and the muscle. As of August 2026 the city charges $20 per item for curbside bulk pickup, scheduled through the Capitol Waste hotline at 855-533-3400, and the DPW runs bulk drop-off days at 247 Commercial Street.
Mattresses are the catch. Since November 2022 Lynn will not take a mattress as a bulk item at all. You either drive it to the DPW at 250 Commercial Street and pay $35, or book curbside mattress pickup for $65.
Either way, the mattress has to get from your bedroom to the curb, and that part is on you. That is the whole difference: we carry it out of the room it is in, the same day, and the price you get by text is the price you pay.

Yes. Massachusetts banned mattresses from regular trash in 2022, so they have to go to a recycling facility. We handle that part and it is included in the price you are quoted.
How fast can you get to Lynn?

Should I just use the city’s mattress pickup instead?
You can, and it costs $65 at the curb or $35 if you drive it to the DPW yourself. The catch is the same either way: the mattress has to get from the bedroom to the curb, and that part is on you. We take it from the room it is in.
Do you charge more to come to Lynn?
